About Me

M. Mark Miller is a fifth-generation Montanan who grew up on a ranch ninety miles north of Yellowstone National Park. His earliest memories include his grandmother’s tales of her trip there in 1909 and her father’s trip there in 1882. Those tales inspired his series of books about early travel to the park. His articles on Montana history and park travel have appeared in magazines like Montana Quarterly and Big Sky Journal. He is now writing a memoir about his ranch childhood and coming of age at the University of Montana in the turbulent 1960s.
